“Zaan Schanse: A Windmill Village Where Nature Heals”

“A Sanctuary for the Soul”
In Zaans Schanse, beauty rises from the simplest surroundings. As I walk through fields of high, fresh grass and admire blooming flowers, a wave of joy floods over me and I’m at peace with the universe.
I can turn down almost anything in life, but I can’t say no to the call of a beautiful, peaceful countryside.

I find myself wondering about the magic held within the flowers and trees.
What is it that gives them such calming, healing energy? When I am close to nature, I feel at home. Something stirs inside me, filling my lungs and heart, making time feel like it has stopped.
It makes me think about the rush in our lives. Are we chasing dreams, or running away from fears? Either way, it’s exhausting.

I believe everyone should have a secret garden tucked away at home.
A hidden door or closet, much like Narnia, where one can escape the mundane world and find peace.
Sadly, many of us are trapped in our concrete jungles, where our thoughts and feelings feel boxed in.
In the woods, the trees and grass could absorb our tired energy and give it back to us in a refreshing way.

Here, we would share a giving and receiving flow — a dance of energy.
But in our cities, surrounded by bricks, we are limited to four walls where our energy returns to us fractured, diminished.
Zaans Schanse reminds us to seek the beauty in simplicity and to remember that nature is our true home. In its embrace, we find healing, peace, and a deep connection to life. It calls us to slow down and appreciate the world around us, where the simplest moments can hold the greatest beauty.
